Several stars from the Cleveland Indians are set to meet up in the second round of the World Baseball Classic out in San Diego.

From some surprising power shown by Francisco Lindor, to the collapse had by Andrew Miller against Carlos Santana‘s team, the World Baseball Classic has already provided several storylines for Cleveland Indians fans.

That will continue this week as three teams featuring familiar faces are set to face off in the second round of the World Baseball Classic.

Team USA, Puerto Rico, and the Dominican Republic are all in the same second round group, meaning there will be some fun matchups for Indians fans.

The first of those comes tonight, as Puerto Rico takes on the Dominican Republic. That means a showdown between Lindor and Santana, with the possibility of Roberto Perez making a cameo for the Puerto Rican squad. The two teams finished the first round with a perfect record of 3-0.

Both Santana and Lindor have done well in starting roles thus far, but one of the highlights of the tournament came on an absolute monster home run by Lindor against Mexico.

Indians fans are just hoping to see power like that throughout the MLB season.

The other enticing matchups in the second round will come when Team USA gets a shot at both Puerto Rico and the DR team, as Andrew Miller is looking to redeem himself.

His outing on Saturday against the DR ended with him blowing a two-run lead by allowing two home runs in the eighth inning. Nelson Cruz and Starling Marte made easy work of Miller, and Santana even added a hit against his Cleveland teammate.

But one outing, especially one in March, doesn’t define a player, so perhaps Miller can make it up by striking out Lindor or Santana in a big moment.

It is not ideal that so many of the Indians’ stars are playing in a preseason tournament, but the action has been exciting regardless. That should only continue this week as the Indians continue to be well-represented on a global stage.
