The Cleveland Indians are set to take on the Boston Red Sox with a chance to sweep the series and advance to the ALCS to take on the Toronto Blue Jays.

Does anyone like rain?

The Cleveland Indians had their chances at a sweep washed away Sunday afternoon in Boston, with the game rescheduled for today at 6 p.m.

While it does not have major effects on the Indians’ chances to win Game 3 and sweep the Red Sox, it did leave Cleveland sports fans with a miserable Browns loss being the only thing to watch on Sunday. At least today’s game should help brighten up the fact it’s Monday.

While the rainout does not change much about today’s game, it did provide rest for both teams’ pitchers if the series goes four or five games. This benefits both Trevor Bauer and Corey Kluber, but it also means Rick Porcello can return to start on Tuesday, if the Red Sox pick up the win today. He did not show many positives in his Game 1 loss, but he is a great pitcher who should be able to bounce back and do much better. Being at home also helps.

Of course, none of this matters if Josh Tomlin and the Indians are able to pick up a win tonight. Even if Tomlin struggles, Andrew Miller will likely be ready to go at any point in the game. Terry Francona proved he does not care much for assigned bullpen roles, understanding the game can be won or lost at many points throughout the game.

A win tonight would not only send the Indians to the ALCS, but would also give the team home-field advantage in the series after the Toronto Blue Jays swept the Texas Rangers Sunday night.

After two days of no Indians baseball, the anticipation for tonight’s game is almost unbearable. While we wait for the workday to end and the Indians to play, let’s take a look at the news surrounding the team and the rest of the MLB in today’s edition of A.M. Wahoo’s.
