Taking a look at the news surrounding the Cleveland Indians and the rest of the MLB on the morning of August 30, 2016.
The Cleveland Indians have struggled against the Minnesota Twins all season, with those struggles continuing Monday night. The good news is that the Indians were still able to pull out a victory.
A Jason Kipnis walk-off single in the 10th inning gave the Indians a 1-0 victory, maintaining the 4.5-game lead over the Detroit Tigers in the AL Central.
The Indians take on the Twins again tonight, with Josh Tomlin as the starting pitcher. Tomlin has had his problems with allowing home runs all season, so tonight’s start will be a good test to see if he can deal with the pressure of the pennant race. Another bad outing could even cost him his job.
But while we await first pitch, and our takeaways from last night’s exciting win, let’s take a look at the news surrounding the Indians and the rest of the MLB in today’s edition of A.M. Wahoo’s.
Cleveland Indians News:

"The Cleveland Indians are returning home for a 10-game homestand, and it’s coming not a moment too soon, as the Tribe went 2-5 during their most recent roadtrip to Oakland and Texas. The club is now 73-56, to go along with being 13-13 in August, and this swoon has dropped their division lead over the Detroit Tigers to 4.5 games."
Triston McKenzie Shredding Opponents for Lake County
"The Cleveland Indians are the envy of much of Major League Baseball because of its pitching. Not just the performance of the club’s starting rotation, August’s struggles notwithstanding, but because it is young, talented, cheap, and under control for seasons to come."
Mike Napoli and the Quest for 30 Home Runs (Let’s Go Tribe)
