The Cleveland Indians camp holds a few mysteries this spring. An outfield spot is clearly up for grabs as well as what the bullpen will look like when the season starts.

Can there be a better time of year? The Cleveland Indians are in full swing in Goodyear and so far we’ve seen some good things from the Tribe. Tyler Naquin has impressed while Mike Napoli hasn’t disappointed either. With the pitching staff relatively set, the battles in the outfield will be the intriguing storyline this spring.

We continue our series on the Indians top prospects with No. 23, Greg Allen. The switch-hitting outfielder has versatility in his ability to play all three outfield spots and is one of the fastest players in the Tribe’s organization. Allen won’t become famous for his power as he has very little, but it’s his speed that could help him make the ascent to Cleveland.

Last season the Indians became a favorite pick of many to win the World Series, even gracing the cover of Sports Illustrated. Clearly we know how this “favorite” thing tends to pan out, so some are taking a more subtle approach. Bleacher Report has called the Indians the AL’s “Sleeping giant”. Not a bad idea. With the pitching staff the Tribe has, it will just be a matter of manufacturing the offense to go along with it. If that happens? A giant they could be indeed.
