The Cleveland Indians continue to have their name mentioned in trade rumors, and mostly for their pitching. But the Reds Todd Frazier has been mentioned as well. What about parting with a top prospect for a power bat?
The Cleveland Indians and Cincinnati Reds sit in two completely different places right now. The Reds are square in the middle of a rebuild while the Indians are trying to assess just how much of a contender they are, and what theyâre willing to do to get there. Trading the starting pitching is all but off the board it seems, but what about a top prospect? That may be the route they need to go to get Todd Frazier from the Reds.
Another name that has been seen in the headlines is Shane Victorino. While the veteran doesnât seem like the most likely of targets for the Tribe, our Matt Bretz sees him as a sensible guy to go after this offseason. Could he fit in with the merry-go-round of outfielders the team is likely to use next season?
Action has continued at the winter meetings with a flurry of moves that wonât make a lot of headlines but are setting the tone for the rest of the offseason. Most teams have made some key moves early to not get caught with the âscrapsâ at the end, and hopefully, the Indians will jump in on that here before itâs too late.
