Tribe Win; Royals at the head of the class in Central
The Cleveland Indians have gotten a facelift since the All-Star break, as trades and call-ups have altered the look of the once hopeful Tribe. After a mini losing streak of two, the Indians exploded for 17 runs on 19 hits as they destroyed the also once hopeful Minnesota Twins. Newly acquired Abraham Almonte made his name known with an impressive debut including a homer and two doubles as the Tribe backed Trevor Bauer in the 17-4 win.
While the Indians continue to get younger, they also continue to identify who may be part of the plan moving forward. It’s been a tough 2015 and the expectations moving forward have become more about identifying the potential on this roster instead of winning. It doesn’t mean they won’t pick up a few W’s on the way, but it’s more about development at this point.
The AL Central is becoming more and more of a one pony show as the Kansas City Royals continue to do their thing. It wasn’t pretty against the Chicago White Sox but the Royals prevailed in a 7-6 win in front of a full crowd at Kauffman Stadium on Saturday night. The Royals bullpen once again impressed as they pitched 3 1/3 scoreless innings to help hold on for the 7-6 victory.
