The Cleveland Indians are “emoji’d”.
That’s probably a sentence you thought you’d never read. In fact, there are probably a handful of readers out there who hadn’t a clue what emojis were until the now infamous battle for DeAndre Jordan last month. Maybe even a few whose grasp of emojis is as fuzzy as Paul Pierce.
At any rate, the Indians have developed eight emoji “stickers” in an effort to keep with the times which fans can use to share across social media accounts and in text messaged. The first batch, released yesterday, contains emojis in the form of Yan Gomes, Carlos Santana, Terry Francona, Jason Kipnis, Michael Brantley, Corey Kluber, Carlos Carrasco and Slider.
Yet, none of them actually look their inspiration. In fact, they’re a little bit scary looking.
A little strange, right?
The Indians website has instructions on how to use the emojis, which basically consists of saving them as images on your device, in case anyone has the urge to throw a Slider image at the end of their next Tweet.
Now… Cue the Wish they’d spend more time fielding a winning team instead of developing emojis responses.
