The Chicago Cubs

The Chicago Cubs may seem like an odd fit given their plethora of young talent, but reports this summer have the Cubs looking for a left-handed hitting outfielder.

Murphy being a potential free agent at the end of the year would seem to be a decent fit for a Cubs team that has several prospects knocking on the door (don’t want to block them too long).  However, the report also says that the Cubs want to insert this outfielder in CF to possibly platoon with Dexter Fowler.  Murphy had a hard enough time in RF in Cleveland so moving back to CF (where he did play in his younger days) would seem like a tall task.  His bat though would be what the Cubs are looking for, so maybe they’d be willing to forgo some defense and try Jorge Soler or Chris Coghlan out there on days Dexter Fowler is getting a rest.
