The starting pitching has been fantastic, with four guys under 4.00 and over 100 strikeouts. Jason Kipnis has become a star, and the youth is arriving in Cleveland. Now only one game behind the Detroit Tigers the Indians have a chance to make a move. And while I don’t believe the Minnesota Twins will collapse, I see them drifting back to the pack as well.

With the team unlikley to pursue outside help, these are just a few of the options the team could look at internally to help spark the team in the second half. If the Tribe can avoid a lengthy losing streak after winning a few, they could find themselves moving up quickly in the standings.

The young players like Francisco Lindor and Urshela are going to scuffle at times, but that’s expected and having a few guys to spell them is a valuable asset. The Indians have relied on Mike Aviles in the past to be ‘that guy”, but with his daughter and all that he is going through the Indians could use another few guys to count on as Aviles goes through these difficult times.

It’s not been pretty at times, but here we are a few games out of the break and creeping in on thir place in the Central. There’s still hope Tribe fans.
