The Cleveland Indians try to reach .500; the Weekly Wroundtable Returns; and the Draft is on tap

Yesterday was a big day for the Cleveland Indians, as it represented a chance to reach .500 for the first time in a long while. The Cleveland Indians and the Baltimore Orioles showed off with some drama. Shaun Marcum pitched better than he had in previous starts, although he still was not amazing. The reality is that allowing a few runs across sixth innings is all that he needs to do to be an average fifth starter.

In other Indians news, Cody Norman examined five key players who will propel the Cleveland Indians to the top. The Al Central, while incredibly competitive, has remained tight, and the Tribe has a shot to win it. Which five players will make a big difference? Read the piece to find out!

The MLB Draft is just around the corner, and many fans are engulfed in the ensuing drama. With this in mind, Merritt Rohlfing and Jeff Ellis of Scout.com discussed the upcoming draft and what it means for the Cleveland Indians. The Tribe had two first round picks last season, but this year they only have the 17th pick in the first round.

The Weekly Wroundtable returned, and your favourite writers picked their biggest surprises of the season so far. From the starting rotation to defence, nearly every position is covered. What has been your biggest surprise of the season? Read the piece and see if anyone shares your opinion.

Another occurrence yesterday that doesn’t necessarily pertain to the Cleveland Indians, the Oakland Athletics called up switch-pitcher Pat Venditte. Venditte, a natural righty, pitches with both his right and left arm. He uses a special glove that allows him to switch his throwing arm in between batters. He is not, however, allowed to change throwing arms mid-batter.
