Clevelinks: The Indians Zach McAllister, Francisco Lindor And More

facebooktwitterreddit

Last season, starter turned reliever Zach McAllister found his groove in the Cleveland Indians bullen. With no minor-league options left, there’s no doubt he’ll break camp with the Tribe. The only question may be in what role. The starting rotation is about set, with only one spot open. Many see Danny Salazar as the favorite, which leaves McAllister in the ‘pen.  But no matter where, the Indians have high expectations for him in 2015.

The Indians top prospect Francisco Lindor in a non-roster invitee to camp. The Indians say no, but does he have a chance to make the Opening Day roster? It would take a lot of thing to go right, and by that, I mean wrong. Lindor needs more time to develop, and injuries would be the only thing that may speed up his clock. Even then, the Tribe have made it clear they’re being patient with the talented shortstop. His time is coming soon enough.

It appears the battle for Cuban top prospect Yoan Moncada has come to an end. Early reports indicate the talented infielder has agreed to a record-setting deal with the Boston Red Sox. The agreement is pending a physical, but is thought to be in the $30 million range.
