McAllister Struggles Again, Hagadone Gives Up Go-Ahead HR
The Cleveland Indians have been practically handing over gift wins lately, and Saturday night was no exception. Â The Tribe took a 5-0 lead early in the game partially thanks to getting 7 consecutive men to reach with two outs, but McAllister allowed one too many 2-out RBIs of his own. Â After the first man reached in the fifth inning, the Tribe brought on Nick Hagadone, who promptly gave up a 2-run homer to Billy Butler. Â The Royals would hold their 7-5 lead through the rest of the game.
The Positives
Carlos Santana homered again , giving him 18 on the year. Â He also doubled and walked in the game, bumping his slash line up to a respectable .226/.363/.433. Â He continues to be red-hot. Â Yan Gomes had another multi-hit game and is closing out his torrid July quite nicely. The 2-out RBIs were a nice reminder of the magic this team had in 2013 as well.
The Negatives
Zach McAllister, obviously. Â Along with Justin Masterson and Nick Swisher, he ranks among the biggest disappointments for the Tribe this season. Â Chris Dickerson went 0-for-5 with three strikeouts.
