Indians Deadline Target: Following Hammel

On Friday, Wahoo’s On First  took a look at Jason Hammel and why he would be a great option for the Cleveland Indians in solidifying an iffy-at-best rotation in a push towards contending in the AL Central or a Wild Card spot. Today, we reflect on why so many teams will be interested in the 31-year-old right-hander over the next several weeks as the trade deadline approaches. After Friday’s start against the Washington Nationals, the number of teams in on the second best pitching option on the market (next to David Price), may be forming a list that is very, very long:

The overall numbers are very good for Hammel, and they have been all season. He has very limited costs considering the potential results, and is someone to continue monitoring in hopes of an eventual landing on the shores of Lake Erie with the Indians.

Is Jason Hammel someone who you’d like to see the Tribe go after?
