The team also announced the signing of its third-round pick, 1B Bobby Bradley (97th overall), from Gulfport, MS.
The signing of Zimmer, a left-handed hitting outfielder from the University of San Fransisco, follows the signings of 31st overall pick LHP Justus Sheffield and second-round RHP Grant Hockin, leaving Virgina OF Mike Papi, selected with the Tribe’s competitive balance pick in between rounds one and two, as the only unsigned player among Cleveland’s four top draft picks. The Indians held four of the first 61 picks in the draft. For Indians fans who’d like to know more about Zimmer, here’s a video of one of his at bats in college.
