In the game he went 3 for 5 with a walk and drove in two runs to continue his impressive early season performance with the Indians High-A affiliate.
Despite missing over a month of the season (strained oblique) he has not showed the rust that may have been expected posting a triple slash line of .288/.393/.365 including three stolen bases spanning 61 plate appearances.
Overall on the year he has appeared in 22 games and is hitting .308/.409/.410 spanning 93 plate appearances. He has appeared in 19 of his 22 games in left field.
Washington wast the Cleveland Indians second round draft pick in 2010 (55th overall) out of Chipola Junior College in Marianna Florida.
Still just 22 years old he has had to battle through a series of injuries that have slowed his ascent up through the organizations minor league ladder.
There is no doubt that he possesses all the talent required to make a push to the major leagues and if he continues to play like he has early this year we’ll see him in Akron sooner rather than later.
