Bauer and Indians Leave Baltimore with Series Split

Tribe Drops Series Finale to O’s

Trevor Bauer couldn’t get out of the fifth inning on Sunday in a very Danny Salazar-esque outing, leaving the Tribe with a 2 run deficit they weren’t able to overcome.  The Oriole offense was solid even without Chris Davis in the lineup, and Manny Machado and Nelson Cruz proved too much to handle.

The Positives

Trevor Bauer showed wipeout stuff and was able to nab 8 strikeouts even though he took the loss.  Lonnie Chisenhall continues to hit the ball well even though he didn’t have much to show for it on Sunday.

The Negatives

The offense sputtered against a very average pitcher.  Trevor Bauer showed huge command issues that we haven’t seen from him in Cleveland this year.

Check It Out

–Only four pitchers so far this year have gone less than 5 innings with 8 or more strikeouts.  One was Trevor Bauer, and another was Danny Salazar.

–Michael Brantley nailed another throw to the plate, but the ball was jarred loose so he wasn’t credited with a league-leading 7th outfield assist.

–Carlos Santana hit out of the number two spot.  His first two at-bats were a walk and a hit-by-pitch.
