Jimenez Unable To Hold Back Former Team

Ubaldo Jimenez was dominant down the stretch for the Tribe last year, but looked more like his 2012 self against the Indians on Saturday.  After using 53 pitches to get through the first 2 innings, he manaDed to barely escape with zeroes in the first four innings.  But the Indians broke through for 5 and chased him before he could record an out in the fifth.

The Positives

The offense roared.  7 consecutive batters reached to lead of the fifth.  Carlos Santana hit a home run.  Lonnie Chisenall continued to rage forward in his breakout season.  Corey Kluber was ridiculously dominant again.  Brantley gunned down a runner from left field, again.  Even John Axford was able to record a scoreless inning, including a strikeout of Chris David

The Negatives

David Murphy has yet to grab a hit in the series and was the only starter not to record a hit on Saturday.  He’s been good this year, but a bit inconsistent.

Check It Out

-Corey Kluber now leads all of baseball with 83 strikeouts

-Kluber’s 5 consecutive games with at least 8 strikeouts is the first such streak in the majors this season, and the first for the Indians since C.C. Sabathia in 2007.

Lonnie Chisenhall is only four doubles shy of matching his career high

Michael Brantley leads the American League with 6 outfield assists.
