Jason Kipnis and Indians Hungry for Success in 2014
Thanks to a breakout season in 2013, Jason Kipnis is getting a lot of attention from various media outlets. The most recent of which came yesterday morning on MLB Network’s Hot Stove.
Kipnis called in to the show to talk to hosts Harold Reynolds and Fran Charles and he did not disappoint. Among the topics he discussed were the polar vortex, his offseason training regimen, and the Indians desire to get back to the playoffs in 2014. As Kipnis explained, the Indians got a taste of what it means to play meaningful games in September and reach the playoffs. They want to get back their and feel they have the talent, especially on offense, to accomplish that task.
Another topic brought up by Reynolds and Charles was Kipnis’s alma mater, Arizona State University, and it’s propensity for producing top-level talent at second base. After all, Jason Kipnis is the third in a line of great second basemen to attend ASU after Ian Kinsler and Dustin Pedroia. Although, as he points out, Kipnis was not a second baseman while a memeber of the Sun Devils.
Lastly, Jason Kipnis also addresses the truly awesome Instagram video he posted back towards the end of October. If you haven’t seen it, you can find it by following this link. And for the love of God, if you aren’t following Jason Kipnis on either Twitter or Instagram, you’re missing out. He’s one of the better follows on the Indians.
Anyways, it’s good to see Jason Kipnis and the Indians getting some run from the national TV outlets. Hopefully it translates to even more success and more TV appearances in 2014. You can watch the video of Jason Kipnis on Hot Stove below. (Refresh page if the video player fails to load.)
