  • Game 56: Tigers 7, Indians 5

Detroit jumped on the Tribe early, forging a lead too great for Cleveland to overcome. With the Tigers leading 7-1 through five innings, the Indians started to stage a comeback, but missed opportunities proved lethal. It was an all-around strong performance for the Tribe on Friday night. Josh Tomlin held the Cardinals scoreless through six innings, surrendering two in the seventh inning. The Indians got on the board in the first with two runs against longtime Cleveland pitcher Jake Westbrook on a double from Carlos Santana and a groundout from Michael Brantley. The Tribe continued to add runs throughout the game, topped off with a two-run Johnny Damon home run. (full recap here)

  • Game 59: Indians 4, Cardinals 1
