Thank You to Our Amazing Supporters

I’m sorry to announce that Wahoo’s on First has not advanced to the next phase of BallHyped’s 2011 Sports Blog of the Year Tournament. Voting for Round Two ended early Monday morning, and unfortunately we fell just short with 47 percent of the vote for our matchup.

But this was far from a failing. On the contrary, I am truly humbled by the support we received.

In the 72-hour voting period for Round Two, Wahoo’s on First received 135 votes. That made us the second-most popular blog of all the 32 who were in the competition. We would have won any other matchup by more than 50 votes, and we got more than twice the votes of all but one other winner. Yes, we lost, but it took the top vote-getter to knock us out.

Thank you so much to everyone who took the time to click for us, and congratulations to our new friends at Sports Chump on a very well-fought victory. Please do continue to vote for FanSided’s other qualifying blog, Sidelion Report, as well as Eagles Central and Philly Buster.
