What A Day Cleveland Fans
22-4? Wow… Is the new Yankee Stadium corked? Cleveland had a 14 run second inning on 13 hits, one hit shy of the all-time AL record for hits in an inning. Asdrubal Cabrera led a balanced attck for The Indians with a grand slam off of Chien-Ming Wang whose ERA went from 28.00 to above 30.00.
To make the day better, The Cavs won. All-in-all it was a damn good day in Cleveland. It’s a shame The Indians only play once in New York. The most enjoyable part of the game for me was hearing the boos, almost every inning, mixed with chorus of Swisher chants every time Cleveland scored.
Only one game left in The Bronx, Sunday afternoon, first pitch is at 1:05 Pm. Carl Pavano faces off against AJ Burnett.
Fausto Carmona looked decent for Cleveland in picking up his first win. Carmona seemed to buckle down after giving up a 2-run homer to Mark Teixera in the 1st inning. Going in down 2-0 and coming back out up 14-2 will do that for your confidence.
The Indians got five homers besides Cabrera’s slam. Mark DeRosa and Shin-Soo Choo hit a three run shot each. Victor Martinez, Grady Sizemore and Travis Hafner added to Yankee agony by hitting solo shots.
