Opening Day 2009: Cleveland Indians vs Texas Rangers
The time has finally arrived! Opening Day, feels like the banks should be closed, the post offices should stop service, and everyone should have the day off to watch their favorite team play. The Indians are optimistic for 2009 and start their journey in Texas against the Rangers today.
Kevin Millwood, no stranger to Indians fans will be throwing for the Rangers. This will be Millwood’s fourth consecutive opening day start. Cliff Lee will take the mound for The Indians. The 2008 Cy Young award winner will open the season as the teams number one starter, whereas last season, he had to fight to claim a spot in the rotation.
The Ranger to keep an eye on in this series will be Josh Hamilton. Hamilton was acquired from The Reds, led the AL in RBI’s last season with 130. He also put on a clinic at the All-Star Game’s home run hitting contest.
I am sure the players are just fine with starting on the road because at last report it was snowing in Cleveland.
