Nolan Jones is playing himself off the Guardians’ Opening Day roster

In the offseason the Guardians made the surprising decision to tender a contract to Jones despite his immense struggles in 2025.

And those struggles have carried over into this year, as he’s been ice cold since opening the spring with a towering home run against the Brewers.

Jones entered play on Wednesday hitting just .115 in 26 at-bats (which is the second-most among Guardians players this spring).

Even though Jones flashed some exciting exit velocity numbers last season, any production he had was almost always outweighed by the hole in his swing.

The Guardians reunited with Jones at the end of last year’s spring training. His time with the franchise could come to a close at the end of this year’s spring training.
